WHAT IS NEEDLE FELTING?
Needle felting is a relatively new craft which allows the artist to create wonderful sculptured designs and figures. It is achieved by poking wool roving or wool sliver, such as might be used for spinning, using a special barbed needle and repeating this many times until the wool begins to felt together.
Many hours are spent creating these miniature bears and animals and every one is totally unique and one of a kind as no patterns are used. Each Alida Bears needle felted bear or animal will come with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.

Shh ... Gizmo is asleep again! He is a unique, 6.5" long, needle felted little cat / kitten created by artist Alida Sunderland. Lord Reginald is a fully jointed, needle felted, 3" high gentleman bear who has lots of class & made out of merino wool! SNOWY OWL on miniature book – 4.25" high OOAK Owl
This one of a kind, needle felted, Snowy Owl, looks like he's come straight out a Harry Pottery movie!!!!! The owl itself is needle felted in Alpaca wool and stands 4.25" high. He has wired and needle felted feet and black glass eyes and the faux leather bound miniature book measures approx. 2.5" x 2" x 0.75", consists of 415 pages and is a real book entitled "A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens". Although the book is in excellent condition, I believe it was actually printed in Spain in the 1970s and is a collectable in its own right. As you can see, the owl just stands on the book and is not fixed to it.

This colourful Tucan bird is totally handmade & needle felted by our needle felting artist Nina Sunderland. This Rocking Horse was created by needle felting Sheltand & Merino wool and is mounted onto two wooden rockers. The horse has actually got a real silk wool mane & tail also and has tiny metal stirrups attached to the felt saddle. Kitty the cat is one of a kind and only 4.5" high and is needle felted in Merino wool by the artist Alida Sunderland. She's certainly a cat with a difference - she's rather risque and into the dominatrix scene and although she's needle felted and fully jointed, she also wears some long black rubber boots, has a red ribbon outfit and holds a 'cat-of-nine-tails' whip - all of which are also handmade. "I'm late, I'm late" - That's what Alice in Wonderland's white rabbit always says. He's a 6" high white rabbit, totally needle felted in Merino wool and he is also fully jointed with black glass eyes and whiskers and he even has a large watch on his wrist which is also needle felted. Mitzi is one of my handmade, part needle felted, 4.5" high pin cushion cats / doll & is made out of Merino wool and quality cotton fabric. Her head, body and tail are totally needle felted & she has a jointed head and arms and black glass eyes.
